Seniors are gone and have made many great high school memories these past four years. From laughing with friends at lunch to bonding with their favorite teachers, high school was the place for many memories. As seniors stepped out of their favorite class, and walked into their young adulthood, they remember what teachers made their learning experience fun and shaped them to who they are today. Mrs. Rossbach, Geometry and Statistics teacher, was one of the many teachers seniors loved and admired. Her love and support for students earned her the title Teacher of the Year.

The award goes to one teacher every year,  voted by seniors. This award is given to teachers who show support and exceptional teaching throughout the year. These teachers show their commitment, kindness, and engagement with their students.

“I am really excited to have won teacher of the year. I really love all of my students, and it’s something they have been mentioning for a few years. This year I actually came in first place and it was really fun,” Mrs.Rossbach said.

Many qualities make up a good teacher, whether it is their patience, dedication, consideration or communication. Students spend a great deal of time with teachers, so it is important to have teachers who act as positive role models. Many students have looked up to Mrs.Rossbach because of her kindness, compassion, and eagerness to teach and help students.

“I think that students want to have a teacher who can see their students as whole people. Seeing that everyone has their own relationships and dynamics and understanding that everyone has their own life outside of the classroom. I think students can really relate to that, and they feel more seen and understood when you have a better whole picture of the student,” Mrs. Rossbach commented.

The Teacher of the Year Award is very important for the teachers and the students. This award showcases the teacher  who represents and supports the students, giving the seniors an opportunity to bring light to someone who has made an impact on them.

“The Teacher of the Year award is so important because students vote for it, so it’s not just the teacher that the county or the parents think are the best, but who represents the students the best,” Mrs. Rossbach stated.

Many of Mrs. Rossbach’s students admire her for her soft spokenness and patience with her students. Others claim her to be very cheerful, always starting a lesson with a smile on her face. Usually, when students go to school, they’re already tired and just want the day to go by quickly. Mrs. Rossbach’s eagerness to teach and enthusiastic personality makes learning enjoyable and fun, making students excited to learn.  She is a teacher many can count on to not only help with math homework, but personal advice.

“Mrs. Rossbach supports her students by showing that she cares about them, not just academically, but also on a personal note. She is openly willing to talk to students about any issue they have, not just math related,” senior Leon Gallash said.

Mrs.Rossbach has always shown up for students, inspiring them to be kind in their day to day lives. Over the years, she has been a constant inspiration. Congratulations to this year’s Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Rossbach.
